Calcined Kaolin

Calcined kaolins are obtained by calcination of a selected blend of Kaolin at temperature above 1000°C (see Thermogravimetry diagram).

Thermal History of Calcined Kaolin

Cacined Kaolins are used as active fillers for the production of foundry coatings and slurries. Due to the very fine particle size distribution, they can play an important role on the control of the drying shrinkage and physical/mechanical properties of the dried coating.
